Seeing Green: Economic and Workforce Development Opportunities in Renewable Energy and Climate Resiliency

Chmura's CEO and Chief Economist Dr. Chris Chmura hosted climate-smart finance thought leader, Randall Kempner, for a discussion on the economic and workforce development opportunities presented by recent trends in green energy and climate resiliency.

 Kempner, Senior Advisor at the Aspen Institute's Energy and Environment Program, discussed the  economic challenges and opportunities for US regions related to climate change and the clean energy transition. 

Chmura economist Mike Chmura discussed factors contributing to clean energy growth and explored what MSAs and regions are already taking advantage of these green job opportunities. He highlighted specific initiatives and growing green occupations in the energy sector and explained the methodology behind how the data is tracked.

Dr. Chmura discussed how workforce and economic developers can use the data presented in the webinar to implement green energy and climate resiliency into their own communities' strategies.
